HOW IT WORKS
- Refer a Friend or Family Member: Check your email for a communication from SLFCU with your unique referral code. It’s your key to unlocking the benefits of the Refer a Friend Program. Didn’t get an email? Call SLFCU at 505.293.0500 or 800.947.5328 or stop by a branch to ask for it. There’s no limit on the number of referrals you can submit. Both you and the person(s) you are referring must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Almost anyone can join SLFCU.
- Share the Love: Pass on the code to a friend or family member who has yet to discover the exceptional advantages of being part of SLFCU. Mention the $150 new member reward they can get – with the additional $50 for being referred by you, and the $50 reward that you can get for referring them. - Earn Your Reward: If your referred person becomes a new SLFCU member by May 31, 2024 – either by applying online or by visiting a branch – they’ll get the $150 New Member Bonus plus the $50 referral reward, and you’ll get your $50 referrer reward! To activate their reward, the referred person must provide the referral code when applying for membership.

Refer a Friend Program
The Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) Refer a Friend Program is valid from April 1, 2024 through May 31, 2024. The program is limited to a referred person (“New Member”) receiving one (1) $150 New Member Bonus Offer (“Offer”) and (1) $50 Referral Reward (“Reward”). A referring person (“Existing Member”) can receive an unlimited number of $50 Referral Rewards.
The New Member must provide the referral code before the application process is complete when applying for membership at an SLFCU branch. If applying online, the referral code must be entered into the membership application form where indicated.
To participate in the program, both the Existing Member and New Member must be at least 18 years old1, reside in the United States, and agree to the terms and conditions of the program. The New Member must meet SLFCU membership eligibility requirements and the Existing Member must have their own primary savings account with at least $5 prior to the account opening date of the New Member account.
For a New Member to receive the $150 Offer, they must not have been an SLFCU member within the past 180 days. They must open a new membership at SLFCU with a minimum deposit of $5, open a Quick Cash or Money Manager Checking account, and they must also establish recurring ACH direct deposits of at least $100. All the above requirements must be met within the first 60 days of establishing membership.
When all the above requirements are met, the New Member will receive an additional $50 Reward if they have been referred by an Existing Member that meets the requirements described within these terms and conditions. The Existing Member will also get a $50 Reward at that time. Offer and Rewards will be deposited into the member’s primary savings account within 30 days of all requirements being met. Accounts must be in good standing at the time of Offer and Reward.
SLFCU employees who meet all program requirements are eligible to participate as a New Member. SLFCU employees can participate as a referring person but are not eligible to receive a $50 Reward. If an SLFCU employee refers another SLFCU employee, neither employee is eligible to receive a $50 Reward. New Members, excluding SLFCU employees, referred by an SLFCU employee will still receive their Offer and Reward as per the conditions of the program.
SLFCU reserves the right to modify, extend, or terminate the program at any time without prior notice. Tax implications may apply to awarded bonus. Nonresident alien individuals participating in the program should have a current IRS Form W8-BEN on file with SLFCU, if applicable, or otherwise be subject to backup withholding.
SLFCU is not responsible for any lost, stolen, and/or expired referral codes or links, or any technical issues or errors that may prevent the referrals from joining or enrolling in direct deposit. SLFCU reserves the right to disqualify any participants who violate the program rules, SLFCU policies, or any applicable laws or regulations.
SLFCU’s decision on all matters relating to the program is final and binding.
New Membership Savings Account earns 0.05% APY (Annual Percentage Yield) on balances $100 - $9,999 and Money Manager Checking earns 0.05% APY on balances of $500 and over. Quick Cash Checking requires a $15 initial deposit. Rates effective as of 4/01/2024. Dividend rate and APY may change at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
