FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s happening and when?

To provide enhanced functionality to members, the Bill Pay function in SLFCU online and mobile banking moved to a new system on December 7, 2023.

Members who have previously used Bill Pay functionality do not need to re-enroll in the new system. Recurring payments previously set up in Bill Pay moved into the new system, as did data/history from the previous system.

eBills functionality (electronic versions of paper bills that deliver directly to online banking) is currently in development. A message will be posted in online and mobile banking when it is available.

With the exception of eBills payment history, Bill Pay history from the past six months is available in online and mobile banking.

Will I need to re-establish my recurring/scheduled transfers in SLFCU online banking?

No. Transfers are managed in a different part of SLFCU online and mobile banking and were not affected by the Bill Pay conversion.

Will I need to re-establish my scheduled payments in the new Bill Pay function?

Scheduled payments that were previously created in Bill Pay continue to be available in the new system. To schedule additional bill payments, click or tap on “Transfer & Bill Pay” in SLFCU online banking.

What are the per-transaction and daily limits for Bill Pay?

The limit for a single Bill Pay transaction is $10,000. The daily maximum across all Bill Pay transactions is $20,000.

What's the status of eBills in the new Bill Pay system?

eBills functionality (electronic versions of paper bills that deliver directly to online banking) is currently in development. A message will be posted in online and mobile banking when it is available.

eBills did NOT convert to the new Bill Pay system and will need to be set up again there once they are available in the Bill Pay function.

With the exception of payments scheduled for eBills, recurring/scheduled payments previously set up in online banking moved to the new Bill Pay system.

I have set up multiple recurring payments to the same payee. Will I be able to do this in the new Bill Pay system?

In the new Bill Pay system, only one recurring payment per payee is allowed. This means that only one of your existing recurring payments per payee converted to the new Bill Pay system (if you had had more than one in the previous system).

Please review your recurring payments in Bill Pay and make adjustments as necessary. If you make more than one payment to a payee, you can set one of them up as a recurring payment and schedule as many one-time payments to that same payee as are needed.

Was my Bill Pay transaction history preserved?

With the exception of eBills payment history, your past transactions are available in online and mobile banking. To access your history, log in to online or mobile banking and select More > eDocuments, then select the month you wish to view.

What are some benefits of the new system?

The new system uses the same technology platform that the rest of SLFCU’s online and mobile banking system uses. Because it will be fully integrated technology (unlike the previous system), we believe members will find it easier to use. Benefits include:

  • New Look: The way members pay their bills online will be clearer and easier to use.
  • Better Technology: Improved administrative functions for employees who support Bill Pay.
  • Staying Current: We’re building a solution that works today and can be adapted in the future.
