Positive Pay: Helping Combat Fraud for Our Business Members
Positive Pay is a new automated cash management service from SLFCU that provides early detection of fraudulent, altered, or counterfeit checks and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. The $50-per-month service could help businesses prevent serious financial losses, and offers the peace of mind that comes with knowing accounts have an added layer of fraud protection.
With Positive Pay, SLFCU will attempt to match checks and ACH transactions that a business issues or receives with those that they receive or send for payment. Transactions that are flagged as suspicious are rejected and sent back to you for examination.
Positive Pay includes the following services.
- ACH Positive Pay: We'll attempt to match an ACH transaction based on the dollar amount and the originator.
- Check Positive Pay: We will compare check numbers, dollar amounts, and the payee fields of checks presented for payment against your check issuance file – that's the electronic record of checks written on an authorized SLFCU account.
- Teller Positive Pay: SLFCU tellers will make real-time inquiries on checks presented at our branches and attempt to match them to your check issuance file.
In all cases, matching transactions are processed, and discrepancies are flagged for approval or rejection by the member.
